Our Story
Journey to Find Blue
When making loofah toys, LuffaLove adheres to ancient botanical dyeing methods.
And indigo blue is the color we most wanted to trace back to its origins.
In search of the purest, most ancient shade of blue, we traveled into the Dong villages deep in the mountains of Qiandongnan, hoping to discover the original form of indigo dyeing.
Here, the millennia-old craft of indigo dyeing continues to this day.
We believe that what truly brings peace of mind is seeing the source of the color with our own eyes.
FAQs
The raw material of this toy is natural loofah, colored using a 100% plant-based dyeing process with pet-friendly plants—such as turmeric used to achieve a vibrant yellow. With its combination of natural plant materials and plant-based dyes, it is exceptionally safe. If your pet chews the toy into small pieces and accidentally swallows minor loofah bits, there is no need to worry; it is harmless and will pass naturally through their digestive system. Additionally, the loofah material softens upon contact with your pet’s saliva, preventing it from scratching their mouth or gastrointestinal tract.
The more the loofah toy is chewed into pieces, the better its tooth-cleaning effect becomes. Made from natural loofah, its unique network of fibrous strands peels apart and gets chewed up as your pet bites down.
Every single bite drives countlessly separated fibers to scrub against tooth surfaces and slide between gaps, effectively scraping away food residue and plaque. Think of this process as your pet using a “natural toothbrush” or “dental floss.” To ensure optimal dental cleaning results, please replace the toy promptly once it is fully worn down.
During play and chewing, the color will not easily transfer to your pet’s fur. However, because no chemical color-fixatives are added, washing it with water may cause very slight bleeding of surface dye—there is no need to worry. If the toy gets wet, please place it in a well-ventilated area to dry. Direct sunlight will accelerate the natural oxidation process of the plant-based colors.
Absolutely. For puppies and kittens, it helps soothe discomfort during teething. For senior dogs, the loofah naturally softens upon contact with saliva, ensuring it won’t irritate or damage sensitive gums. However, please note that power chewers (such as Pit Bulls or Rottweilers) may quickly tear it apart, so supervision is recommended for aggressive chewers.
Yes. The toy is made from natural plant materials, so being chewed into pieces during play is completely normal. In fact, shredding toys is a natural way for pets to release energy and relieve anxiety. Moreover, the more the loofah toy breaks down, the better its tooth-cleaning effect becomes, as the chewing motion causes continuous friction against the teeth to clean their surfaces thoroughly.
This toy is designed with a completely different focus. Many pet owners choose loofah toys because synthetic rubber or nylon toys can cause tooth wear, and swallowing hard plastic fragments poses serious safety risks.
Natural loofah is meant to be a safe, daily consumable item. While it isn’t as indestructible as hard rubber, it offers complete peace of mind—if your pet swallows tiny pieces, there is no need to worry. Its primary function is dental care, acting just like a toothbrush every time your pet chews on it.
Since this toy is made from 100% natural plant materials, shedding crumbs or fibers as it gets chewed up is completely normal. Simply do a quick clean-up after your pet finishes playing.
This toy is designed as an “emotional consumable”—built specifically for pets to unleash their natural chewing instincts and blow off excess energy, all while cleaning their teeth in the process.
Pet parents often ask, “How long will one toy last?” To be honest, it all depends on whether your furry friend is a gentle soul or a chaos machine! For cats, its lifespan is measured in months. For dogs, it varies by size and chew strength—lasting anywhere from a couple of days to several months.
Here is the real magic: the moment your dog finally destroys the toy, that immense sense of accomplishment and pure joy on their face is something no cold, industrial toy can ever provide. That emotional reward is priceless.
And that is the ultimate purpose of a great pet toy!
Loofah is a quick-drying material that naturally resists bacterial growth. After play, simply leave the toy in a well-ventilated area to air dry naturally.
If the toy breaks open, we recommend removing any internal squeakers, PET crinkle paper, or catnip pouches first. Pets don’t view a toy as “damaged”—in fact, they often love playing with the loose loofah strips even more! These pieces can continue to clean your pet’s teeth during play until the material is completely worn down. Once finished, simply clean up any remaining scraps.
We recommend using this as an interactive toy rather than leaving your pet unattended to “do as they please” with it. Keep play sessions short each time to help maintain their interest and excitement.
If your pet already enjoys playing with toys, they will likely fall in love with it right away. Toys from LuffaLove come with a triple-threat appeal:
Unique Loofah Texture: The natural fibrous texture triggers your pet’s innate desire to chew and explore.
Plant-Based Dyes & Natural Scents: Free from synthetic fragrances, it retains an authentic plant aroma that sensitive noses find naturally enticing.
Built-in Surprises: Packed with PET crinkle paper or catnip pouches, it instantly sparks playfulness through sound and scent.
For your pet’s safety, all play should be supervised by an adult.
Please exercise extreme caution when purchasing this product if your pet has pica (a habit of swallowing non-food objects) or is a teacup breed.
Once the toy is severely damaged, promptly remove any internal PET crinkle paper or catnip pouches, and replace the toy with a new one.
